Chocolate And Mocha Cheesecake Recipe

Chocolate And Mocha Cheesecake Recipe

Ingredients:

- 1 cup of crushed chocolate cookies (like Oreos)

- 1/4 cup of melted butter

- 2 cups of cream cheese (softened)

- 1 cup of sugar

- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

- 2 eggs

- 1/2 cup of sour cream

- 1/4 cup of cocoa powder

- 1/4 cup of brewed coffee (cooled)

- Chocolate shavings (for decoration, optional)

Instructions:

1. Make the Crust:

   - First, we need to make the crust! Take the crushed chocolate cookies and mix them with the melted butter in a bowl. It should look like wet sand.

   - Now, press this mixture into the bottom of a round cake pan. This will be our yummy base!

2. Mix the Cheesecake Filling:

   - In another big bowl, put the softened cream cheese. Use a mixer to beat it until it’s smooth and creamy.

   - Add the sugar and vanilla extract, and mix again until everything is well combined.

   - Now, crack in the eggs one at a time, mixing after each one.

   - Next, add the sour cream, cocoa powder, and cooled coffee. Mix until it’s all smooth and chocolatey!

3. Pour and Bake:

   - Carefully pour the cheesecake filling over the crust in the cake pan.

   - Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C) and bake the cheesecake for about 50-60 minutes. It should be set but still a little jiggly in the middle.

4. Cool Down:

   - Once it’s done baking, let it cool down at room temperature for a bit, then put it in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight. This helps it get nice and firm!

5. Serve:

   - When you’re ready to eat, you can sprinkle some chocolate shavings on top for decoration if you want. Then slice it up and enjoy your delicious chocolate and mocha cheesecake!

Cooking Through Grief | How A Community Found Healing After Yom Kippur

Cooking Through Grief | How A Community Found Healing After Yom Kippur There are moments in life when words feel too heavy to carry, when grief presses so deeply that even naming it feels impossible. After the loss our community in Manchester experienced on Yom Kippur , I found myself numb — unable to weep, unable to taste, unable to feel. And yet, somehow, food found its way back to me. In Jewish tradition, food is not just sustenance; it is memory, connection, and comfort. A bowl of chicken soup, a slice of honey cake, a loaf of freshly baked challah — these dishes carry stories of resilience across generations. They invite us to sit together at a table, to remember, to mourn, and, slowly, to heal. Read More: They Killed Two Jews In Manchester, UK On Yom Kippur — But I Could No Longer Feel The Pain
